Mosquito Pass' claim to fame is being the highest through pass road in North America at 13,186'. The highest pass road is Argentine, which I've covered here. Mosquito Pass lies between Leadville to the west, and Fairplay to the east. A very tame road with outstanding views all around as one can expect at this elevation.

The pictures below are taken from two different trips, with the latter being on a cloudy day at the summit. One should be fortunate enough to experience both clear and cloudy conditions. The cloud experience on the second trip made it almost surreal. Here are a couple of videos:

It was a little windy, and cold, on that August day, but extremely awesome to say the least.
