Tincup Pass serves as the gate between Tincup to the west, and St. Elmo to the east. The road is straight forward and plenty easy for any 4-wheel drive vehicle. The shelf road on the south side of the pass is plenty wide, so the ease of this road would make for a good trail to begin your 4-wheel driving career in the Colorado Mountains. And if you've done plenty of that, like myself, it makes for a nice soothing drive to enjoy the scenery. Well, you should be doing that on any road! There are plenty of great campsite possibilities along the trail, primarily on the St. Elmo side.
