Capitol Hill
As the name implies, the Capitol Hill neighborhood is the area surrounding the State Capitol building. If trendy, funky, urban, hip and historic is your cup of coffee, then the Capitol Hill neighborhood is just right for you. While there are some new builds tucked away in between all the historic ones, Capitol Hill is chalk full of quaint old buildings sporting original hardwood flooring and old world charm, not to mention an absolute plethora of independent coffee houses. If you consider yourself a hipster, you will fit right in with the urban charm of Capitol Hill.
Cherry Creek
Located to the south of downtown Denver, Cherry Creek is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Denver and offers a unique blend of urban and suburban living. Offering wider streets and better parking than the Capital Hill neighborhood, Cherry Creek is a great place for urbanites with families. The Cherry Creek shopping district offers some of the best dinings in Denver, and the Cherry Creek Shopping Center is one of the premier upscale retail resorts in Colorado.
LoDo
Abbreviated for Lower Downtown, LoDo is located on the north end of the 16th Street Mall, which runs north to south through downtown Denver. Located near the historic Union Station, LoDo is the home of some of the trendiest, modern denizens of urban Denver. If you want the most “Manhattan” experience available in Denver, then LoDo is probably where you want to be.
LoHi
Located just north of downtown Denver, LoHi is the abbreviation of the Lower Highlands of Denver. Like Cherry Creek to the south, LoHi is a slightly more suburban neighborhood, but with a more historic feel than Cherry Creek. Also, LoHi is more white and blue collar than the upscale glitz and glamour of Cherry Creek. When urban hipsters get married and have children, they move north to LoHi.
RiNo
Abbreviated for the River North Art District, RiNo is filled with funky studios and lofts galore. If you love hobnobbing with artists of all kinds or are a part of the art world yourself, then RiNo is right for you. Converted aircraft hangars and warehouses turned into glitzy office shares are all the rage in RiNo.
